Digital transformation is accelerating across all industries, and connected solutions are becoming an essential component of modern operations. From software platforms and IoT devices to cloud infrastructures and artificial intelligence-based systems, organizations increasingly rely on complex digital ecosystems to conduct their activities.
In this context, cybersecurity is no longer just a technical requirement, but an essential condition for operational continuity, compliance, and trust.
We are proud to announce that AROBS Group, through its TrackGPS division, is part of SECASSURED, a European research and innovation project funded through the Horizon Europe programme, aimed at increasing security and trust across complex digital ecosystems.
A European project with 19 partners from 10 countries
SECASSURED – Security Assurance-driven AI-based Security Services for Trustworthy Security Engineering from Left-to-Right – brings together 19 organizations from 10 European countries, including research institutes, universities, technology companies, and industry organizations.
The project is coordinated by SINTEF (Norway) and is funded through Horizon Europe, the European Union’s flagship research and innovation programme.
Over the course of the 36-month implementation period, the partners will collaborate to develop advanced AI-based security services and engineering solutions designed to ensure security throughout the entire lifecycle of digital applications and infrastructures.
What are the objectives of the SECASSURED project?
As organizations adopt increasingly complex architectures that combine software applications, IoT devices, edge infrastructures, and cloud services, managing security becomes a major challenge.
SECASSURED aims to address these challenges by developing a new generation of security services that enable:
- the identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities throughout the software development lifecycle;
- increasing the security level of applications and digital infrastructures;
- detecting threats and risks across software and hardware supply chains;
- integrating artificial intelligence into security analysis and monitoring processes;
- automating compliance checks and risk assessment processes;
- developing continuous security assurance mechanisms for IoT, Edge, and Cloud environments.
Through its outcomes, the project seeks to contribute to the development of safer and more resilient digital services for organizations operating critical infrastructures and services.
The role of TrackGPS within SECASSURED
Within the SECASSURED project, AROBS TrackGPS participates in the Telecom Use Case (UC1 – SECASSURED for Telecom Software Development Life Cycle), alongside Orange Romania and the other partners involved in the development and operation ecosystem of modern telecom services. This use case demonstrates how the technologies developed within the project can enhance cybersecurity assurance across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of telecom services operating in complex 5G, IoT, Edge, and Cloud environments.
TrackGPS contributes with its extensive experience in developing and operating telematics and fleet management solutions used by private companies, public institutions, and critical infrastructure operators. Within the project, the Smart Tracking platform, TrackGPS’s comprehensive fleet management solution, serves as the validation environment for the security services and assurance mechanisms developed by the consortium.
Smart Tracking operates within a complex ecosystem involving software and hardware vendors, system integrators, telecom operators, and cloud service providers, making it a highly relevant scenario for testing security challenges specific to modern digital supply chains. In this context, SECASSURED will integrate advanced AI-based security services and security-oriented Digital Twins (SecDevTwin and SecOpsTwin) into Orange Romania’s infrastructure. These technologies are designed to automatically identify vulnerabilities, detect non-compliant development practices, and simulate complex attack scenarios such as code poisoning and unauthorized system access.
By leveraging a real business environment and a platform used daily by customers operating in critical sectors, project partners will be able to validate the effectiveness of innovative mechanisms dedicated to secure software development, continuous risk monitoring, compliance assessment, and the enhancement of digital service resilience throughout both development and operational phases.
Why is this project important?
As organizations adopt increasingly complex digital solutions, cybersecurity must extend beyond the protection of production infrastructures and encompass the entire software development and supply chain ecosystem. Modern fleet management solutions such as Smart Tracking process large volumes of data and integrate numerous software components, IoT devices, cloud services, and communication infrastructures, requiring a secure-by-design approach throughout the entire product lifecycle.
SECASSURED addresses these challenges by developing security services capable of identifying vulnerabilities in the early stages of development, automating verification and compliance processes, and providing organizations with advanced tools for monitoring risks across software and hardware supply chains. In addition, the project introduces AI-assisted security mechanisms and specialized digital models that enable the simulation and analysis of complex threat scenarios before they impact production environments.
The expected impact of the project is significant. The consortium’s objectives include reducing the time required to identify security non-compliance issues by at least 30%, decreasing the effort needed to remediate vulnerabilities during design and development by 25%, and improving overall system resilience by at least 15%. These outcomes are particularly important in a context where organizations face daily threats such as malware, ransomware, DDoS attacks, and vulnerabilities associated with IoT devices.
For TrackGPS, participation in SECASSURED represents an opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced cybersecurity technologies and practices alongside a European consortium of experts in research, telecommunications, software development, and cybersecurity. At the same time, the project reinforces our commitment to developing connected mobility solutions that deliver not only operational performance but also a high level of security, resilience, and compliance for organizations that depend on critical digital services.
Building a safer digital future together
Through its participation in SECASSURED, TrackGPS contributes to the development of services and technologies that will help European organizations manage cyber risks more effectively and operate safer digital infrastructures.
We are excited to collaborate with an international consortium consisting of 19 partners from 10 countries and to contribute to building a safer and more trustworthy digital future for Europe’s critical infrastructures and connected services.
The SECASSURED project is funded by the European Union through the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation programme under Grant Agreement No. 101225858.
